Projects Fall 2008

Design for Local Sustainability

These final projects, which have been two weeks of research and four weeks of designing, are explorations into the power of design to address domestic social needs. All students have been participating with local nonprofits in Providence throughout the semester to uncover how a product, service, system, space or strategy can improve the services of the organization or the benefactors directly.

Design for Development

The projects pictured below are a result of a three week investigation of the UN Millennium Development Goals as they relate to some of the “Least Developed Countries” in the world. The design exercise was a two and half week study investigating particular design opportunities within these regions. Take a look at the projects below and to see the participant’s research, please view our research and inspiration.
